If you're looking for residential rentals, would you rather live in central London or in a quieter outlying neighbourhood ? Do you want to be near a school ? Are you willing to live in a riskier neighbourhood, if it means significant rental savings ? If you're looking for commercial property, does your business rely on "walk in" traffic from a high-profile shop front, or could you save money by locating in an out of the way location ? Does your target clientele care if you have a prestigious address or could you save money renting in a less expensive area ? If you're not familiar with London, an estate agent can be a great help in guiding you toward neighbourhoods that are best suited to your particular needs.
Especially when looking for residential rentals, some properties may be targeted at relatively short-term tenants. Often properties that require a lease of a certain minimum duration let for lower monthly rates than short term rentals, so if you're planning on staying in London for a year or more, be sure to let your estate agent know you're interested in long-term leases. Other obvious concerns for any renter are the size of the property (if you need two bedrooms, there's no point looking at one-room flats!), and included amenities. Some commercial properties include services such as office cleaning, some do not. Some residential properties may include car parking space, others won't. The more clear you can be about your needs, budget and particular hoped for amenities, the greater chance an estate agent will be able to quickly find a London rental property to suit you! |
